WAR shall work towards achieving its mission by undertaking
the following activities to the extent possible:
-
Conducting
advocacy and awareness programs through press, publications,
media, public contact, seminars, networking and influencing
government and other concerned agencies.
- Acting
as a pressure group on all issues relating to sexual violence.
-
Providing
support services for survivors of sexual violence (to
the extent possible). The services include, but are not
limited to:
- A
confidential telephone service at which survivors
could report and seek help,
- Accompanying
the survivors to the hospital, police station or court,
- Explaining
steps and procedures involved (medical, police and
legal) in reporting cases of sexual violence, and
answering questions that a survivor or the family
might have,
- Providing
ongoing emotional support to the survivor,
- Information
and referrals to lawyers, professional counselors,
psychotherapists, and health care professionals who
are sensitive to the needs of survivors of sexual
violence.

Working
on all those issues that help in providing better, easy
and early justice to survivors.

Working
towards better, easy timely and dignified access to survivors
in seeking police and medical support (including one window
support centers in every town).
- Collecting
and analyzing statistics on the issue of sexual violence.

Developing
WAR volunteers and support groups to support all the above
activities.

Work
towards the repeal of Hudood ordinances and enactment
of more humane and rational rape laws.

Work
towards repeal/emendment of laws that are discriminatory
towards citizens in general and women in particular.
