A series of 3 consultative meetings were held by War Against Rape (WAR), Karachi under its Rape Survivors Support Program. The purpose of these meetings was to review WAR’s proposed Sexual Assault Documentation Protocols (SADPs) with legal experts, members of civil society, gynaecologists, medico-legal officers and legislators for their expert opinion on its content, practicality and implementation strategy. These meetings were conducted after an overwhelming demand by all stakeholders to take the proposed protocols national.

The idea of SADPs was very well received in Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad. Suggestions and recommendations were shared by network members not only for improving the proposed SADPs but also for improving health sector’s response to GBV in general. Based on these suggestions, the SADPs have been revised with the inclusion, exclusion and modification of certain parts.
